Interlake Sailing Class Association (ISCA)

Mission Statement:

The ISCA Mission is "to create an environment that promotes keen and friendly competition with an emphasis on teaching and assisting the entry level sailor.  The ISCA is committed to growth through the managing of sales, distribution, and marketing of the Interlake boat."

ISCA Goals:

1. Facilitate new and used boat sales and service.
2. Improve internal and external communications.
3. Increase membership participation.
4. Develop on-going educational materials and programs.
5. Maintain the one-design integrity of the Interlake

If you have questions or comments about any of these goals, or the ISCA in general, feel free to contact one of the ISCA officers or committee chairpersons listed on this site.

All of the ISCA officers and committee chairpersons are volunteers, giving their time and experience freely.   Their reward comes from the satisfaction of knowing they have helped to continue the growth and future of the one-design sailboat class that they enjoy!  The Intercom editor and secretary-treasurer are given a small stipend to help defray their expenses.

The ISCA encourages anyone with an interest in the future success of the class to consider getting involved in its leadership.  Positions include: Executive Committee members, Regional Vice-Presidents, and Fleet Captains.  A short description of these positions appears below.

If you are presently unable to fill a regular leadership role yet are still interested in helping out, you might volunteer some of your time to a short-term commitment, perhaps on a specific committee.  Please get involved by contacting your fleet captain or other ISCA officer for information on what projects the ISCA needs help with.  If you want to see positive growth in the class, then consider getting personally involved.

ISCA Officers and Committees:

The ISCA - The Interlake Sailing Class Association - established in 1936, exists for one purpose only, and that is to serve its members.  ISCA members willingly volunteer their time to build a family of sailors dedicated to one-design sailing, and specifically to sailing Interlakes.

Over the years the ISCA has been in existence, there have been countless times the association has extended its arms to help a fellow Interlaker.  In addition, the ISCA provides promotional support and oversees the Interlake Nationals.  If you are not taking advantage of the ISCA yet, you and your fleet members are missing a great opportunity.

Executive Committee Positions:

President
Presides at ISCA meetings and chairs the Executive Committee.  Rules on procedure and jurisdiction, summarizes decisions, appoints special committees, fills vacancies by appointments pending Executive Committee action, and authorizes payment of all bills.
